Latte Art
Avril Corroon
Synopsis
Latte Art was covertly filmed from the perspective of the artist who was working as a waitress in the café of a prominent London art gallery. The shaky footage is interwoven with culinary descriptions of acclaimed artworks, matching imagery with the artist’s voice-over narration. The artist/waitress bitterly relates her dissatisfaction with the service industry, as she works on the edge of the art industry in which she wants to be included. Conspiring to get her own back, she ultimately reclaims her precarious status.
