Tara McGinn graduated in 2015 from the Wexford IT School of Art, receiving the IT Carlow Public Collection Prize. She then founded the performance collective Beef or Salmon, and was an artist-in-residence with the Living Arts Project, until commencing the MFA at Belfast School of Art. Graduating in 2019, she received the interim Hammerschlagg Award (2018), the DAS Graduate Residency and Platform Arts Graduate Award.
His work 'The Room is Full of Weapons' was selected for the annual MExIndex Screening in 2020.
