Kennedy is an Irish artist. Her practice includes painting, drawing, photography, installation but more recently film. A member of VAI, At Home Studios and Lux Critical Forum Dublin, she studied fine art at Chelsea School of art London and film and sound at The National Film School IADT Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. She has received support from the Arts Council of Ireland. Her films embrace the power of expressing through absence, erasure, secrecy. Inner monologues, with no clear linear narrative, are interwoven with augmented voice, text, movement and simple gesture. She relies on breaking the conventional pattern of observation in order to create a sensory effect that engages the viewer emotionally. Her most recent work The Incorporeal Body of a Shadow Soul is part of aemi.ie 's touring programme 'In the long now' which premiered at CIFF Cork International Film Festival and will visit both national and international galleries and festivals this year. Kennedy's film work is represented in the MExIndex by her pieces, Allegory and Cameo Reel.
