Announcing Catylitic Intersections - A Symposium on Irish artists moving images
11th September 2021

To celebrate its 2021 rebranding, Irish Artists' Film Index (formerly the MExIndex) is hosting its first symposium at the Project Arts Centre, Catalytic Intersections. Thursday October 28th 10.00am to 5.30pm.
With four presentations providing broad overviews of aspects of Irish artists’ moving images (IAMIs), the aim is to generate debate about the genre and its place in current visual arts, both nationally and internationally. Relating their discussions to films held in the Irish Artists Film Index, the presenters will seek to explore and contextualize moving images works and their influences.

Q&A
This symposium will be of interest not just to those involved in experimental film and artists’ moving image but also to anyone curious about the visual arts and the issues, opinions and investigations they provoke.
Booking will commence in October at https://projectartscentre.ie/whats-on/
A small publication containing the papers, which will be a significant research tool, in this field will be available at the Symposium or from the Irish Artists Film Index.
