Moira Tierney (born Dublin, 1969) graduated from University College Dublin (BA) followed by a Masters in Fine Arts (DNSEP) from l’Ecole Nationale d’Arts de Cergy-Pontoise in Paris. She was granted a Fulbright Scholarship to Anthology Film Archives in 1998. Her film “American Dreams #3” was listed as one of the best of 2003 by the 5th Annual Village Voice Film Critics Poll. Her film “Nouakchott Rocks” received Irish Film Board Distribution Funding for its screening at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2012 and her work has been screened at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, the Rio Film Festival, the London and Edinburgh Film Festivals, Anthology Film Archives, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the Film Museum in Moscow. Moira has been commissioned by the cross-border Peace III Initiative ('Are We ThereYet?' 2010) and has carried out film workshops in Ireland, France and Estonia. Her films are distributed by Third World Newsreel & the Film-Maker’s Co-operative in New York & by the Collectif Jeune Cinema in Paris.
