Cliona Harmey works primarily with sculpture and digital media. Her work often reflects on histories of communication/transmission technologies from maritime space to communications based on flags, semaphore and the forms of analog photography. She is based in Dublin and has exhibited in curated shows in Ireland and internationally. In 2015, Harmey produced Dublin Ships, a major temporary public commission using live shipping information which was located on screens at a major intersection in Dublin. She lectures in the Fine Art Media at NCAD, Dublin.
